Topkis currently serves as the CEO of Lehigh Anthracite LP, an 8,000-acre anthracite coal mine in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. Topkis has an extensive history in strategic leadership and advising. His board member and strategic advisor roles include his time as a board member at Scale Computing, a leader in Edge Computing, as Director and Chairman to Mystic Pharmaceuticals, board member of Aquilent, an integrator focused on web-based software development and advisor to Meridian Behavioral Health, the largest for-profit behavioral health company in the state of Minnesota and Midwest Memorial Group, an owner of twenty-eight cemeteries in Michigan.
In addition, he has served on the board of St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, Buddy’s Home Furnishings in Tampa, Florida and National Renal Alliance until 2008 when the company was acquired by Renal Advantage. Renal Advantage was one of the largest providers of outpatient dialysis services in the United States. Topkis is a member of the YPO Gold chapter where he holds the Communication Chair position. He was a partner of First New York Securities and a managing member of Haystack Capital, L.P.
Topkis holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
