Challenge
A research computer scientist at AIS created a “big software suite” by transforming the results of a previously finished project from proof-of-concept into a useful laboratory tool.
Chris Poore took the existing framework for automatic radio frequency (RF) device assessment and made it work for more types of radios, allowed for the incorporation of third-party tools and scripts and let it all be run from a single computer.
This tool helps quickly and accurately identify device characteristics across different bands of RF, which is an otherwise tedious process. The goal is that the software will develop over time and become broad enough to be leveraged for most situations involving RF technology without requiring starting from scratch.
